The Hub Gate was a gate of Ankh-Morpork.Rincewind tried to escape the city through this gate on a horse he bought using Rhinu (which was thought of in Ankh-Morpork as false coinage) but the guards were on duty and they shot the horse before Rincewind could go any further. Rincewind was taken to the Patrician's Palace.
