Henry Slugg is an opera star from Ankh-Morpork who performs under the name of Senor Enrico Basilica. Henry realised early in his singing career that the name Henry Slugg was not a drawing card so he left Ankh-Morpork and immigrated to Brindisi where he learned the language and changed his name to Enrico. He had a magnificent voice and soon was touring the truly grand Opera Houses of the Disc before returning to Ankh-Morpork to star in Maskerade.. He is an enormous man whose greatest wish in life is that he will be served good old Ankh-Morporkian food such as Slumpie and Distressed Pudding at the banquets in his honour instead of the Brindisian dishes like as pasta which don't agree with him. Unfortunately, his patrons don't get the message. His physical description - and that of his tenor voice - are obvious references to Luciano Pavarotti. In Maskerade, he has a run-in with the Witches Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax and reunites with his old love, Mrs Lawsy. He is also finally fed the 'real food' he craves.
