The Death of Rats was a rodent version of Death, who also specialised in guinea pigs. He appears exactly as one

would expect- just like Death, but instead of a human skeleton he possesses that of a rodent. He appears alongside Death in multiple illustrations.

As an anthropomorphic personification, Death of Rats is able to project behaviour and emotion Death himself cannot. He/She is mischievous and also escorts gerbils, hamsters and guinea pigs as well as rats.

He/She often consorts with a raven, possibly one of Blind Io's before they were decommissioned.
